Chat 4: Healthy and Happy?
It’s January 2024. A year of significant change in my life, and the World. I feel it. I know it. I am looking forward to it.
For the change to take place on an individual level I know I need to engrain healthy habits into my daily routine and not compromise on anything that will make me healthier and happier, and by extension of it will positively impact those around me - friends and family.
I have just got back from an intensive training on yoga and handstands. Inspired by incredible human beings around me, the training yoga teacher Dylan Werner, and the environment I resolve to come back to this training next year as a much stronger and better version of myself.
Coming back though, I do feel I am falling into my previously established habits and patterns - and I am being kind to myself. Nothing wrong with self compassion and kindness, however, I remind myself of the quote of Jim Rohn “We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.”
I do know that I would benefit from a) a bit of a nudge b) a bit of support and empowerment.
I turn to my AI Life Coach for both…So here you go!
You
Hi, I want to do handstands today, I missed them yesterday, please could you help me to stick to my commitment of getting stronger and better at handstands?
AI Life Coach
Absolutely, let's get you back on track with your handstand goals! Remember, missing a day isn't a setback, it's just a rest day in disguise. Here are a few tips to help you stick to your commitment:
Set a Specific Time: Decide on a specific time to practice your handstands. Whether it's first thing in the morning or during a break in the afternoon, having a set time helps make it a routine.
Create a Practice Space: Dedicate a specific area in your home for handstand practice. This physical space can serve as a reminder and motivation to practice.
Start with a Warm-Up: Begin with some light cardio and wrist stretches to prepare your body. This reduces the risk of injury and gets you in the right mindset.
Set Small, Achievable Goals: Instead of just aiming to "get better," set small goals like "hold the handstand for 5 seconds longer than yesterday" or "practice kick-ups 10 times." This makes progress more tangible.
Track Your Progress: Keep a journal or use an app to track your practice and progress. Seeing your improvements over time can be a huge motivator.
Stay Positive: If you find yourself struggling, remind yourself why you started. Visualize yourself performing a perfect handstand and how great it will feel.
Reward Yourself: Set up a reward system. For example, after a week of consistent practice, treat yourself to something you enjoy.
Remember, consistency is key. You're building strength not just in your body, but in your commitment to a goal. Now, let's turn those handstand dreams into a handstand reality! 🤸♂️💪

Is there anything that could motivate me more?
AI Life Coach
Certainly! Finding the right motivation can be a game-changer. Here are some additional strategies to boost your motivation for handstand practice:
Visual Inspiration: Find videos or photos of skilled handstand practitioners. Seeing what's possible can be incredibly inspiring. You might even print out a photo of an impressive handstand and place it where you'll see it daily.
Join a Community: Whether it's an online forum, a social media group, or a local class, being part of a community of people with similar goals can be hugely motivating. Sharing progress, tips, and encouragement with others can keep you engaged and excited.
Set a Challenge with a Friend: If you have a friend who’s also interested in fitness or handstands, set up a friendly challenge. It could be about who practices more consistently or achieves a specific goal first. Friendly competition can be a fun motivator.
Public Commitment: Share your goal with others or on social media. Public commitment can increase your accountability and motivation.
Create a Handstand Playlist: Make a playlist of songs that energize you. Music can be a powerful motivator and make your practice sessions more enjoyable.
Reflect on Your Why: Take a moment to reflect on why you want to achieve this goal. Is it for strength? Balance? The joy of learning something new? Reminding yourself of your personal reasons can reignite your motivation.
Visualize Success: Spend a few minutes each day visualizing yourself succeeding. Imagine the strength and balance you feel while doing a perfect handstand. This mental practice can be a powerful motivator.
Remember, motivation can ebb and flow, and that's completely normal. The key is to find what resonates with you and use it to fuel your journey towards mastering handstands. Keep pushing, and you'll get there! 🌟💪
You
Thank you! So now it's morning please could you help me to set an intention for a day?
AI Life Coach
Absolutely! Setting a daily intention is a fantastic way to start your day with focus and positivity. Here's a simple yet powerful intention you can use:
"Today, I choose to embrace each moment with enthusiasm and courage. I will focus on my strengths and use them to overcome challenges. I intend to stay committed to my goals, particularly improving my handstand, by dedicating time and effort to practice. I will be mindful of my thoughts and actions, ensuring they align with my personal growth and well-being. I will approach every situation with an open mind and a kind heart, seeking opportunities for learning and growth. Above all, I will celebrate every small victory, knowing that each step forward brings me closer to my aspirations."
Remember, your intention is a guiding star for the day, keeping you aligned with your values and goals. Feel free to modify this intention to better suit your personal aspirations and mindset. Have a fantastic and fulfilling day ahead! 🌟✨
